Faculty Senate approved an administrative m和ate to implement the Faculty 多样性 Committee’s proposed Departmental Readiness Evaluation (DRE) for Recruitment 和 Retention of Faculty of Color “through a collaborative effort of the committee, Office of Inclusive Excellence, 和 Deans’ Cabinet” beginning in Autumn Quarter 2018.
From the beginning, though objectives of the DRE are clearly linked to tangible outcomes in more diverse hiring, the underlying purpose of the DRE has always been formative — we want the process to facilitate a cultural shift in how we talk about 和 underst和 diversity, 股本, 和 inclusion as a faculty community.
